PATCH NAME:
PCS3270.COM
ENVIRONMENT:
This patch is needed for any Compaq VGA machine when running the
IBM Personal Communications 3270 package, version 1.01, level 0.
FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION:
The PCS/3270 package causes Compaq VGA machines to blank the
video monitor and lose keyboard response. This occurs when the
user hotkeys from a compressed video mode, such as model 3
(32x80), host session to DOS.
This patch compensates for an errant video Set Mode call, in the
executable files PCSPDOS.EXE and PCSDOS.EXE, which causes this
anomaly.
INSTALLATION DESCRIPTION:
1) Load the patch PCS3270.COM into a directory which is defined in
the path declaration, preferably in the same directory as the
PCS?DOS.EXE files. If the PCS/3270 application is used regularly,
this patch should be included in the AUTOEXEC.BAT file.
2) Enter "PCS3270" to load and execute this patch. An installation
message will be displayed on the video monitor.
COMMENTS:
1) PCS3270.COM will remain memory resident until the system
is rebooted.
